Due to a leak in the roof of the gym, there will be no pictures for a period of time because my camera was damaged.
Kindergarten, First, Second and Third grades- started into a cooperative activity called Gilligan's Island. In this game, everyone must get to the ship to win. Everyone starts on a boat in the middle of the ocean and the 2 survivors on the island have the task of bringing the first people to shore. Anyone touching the water is sent back. Many students love this activity and I love it too because of all the cooperation that's involved. One student told me she played this game at her house with neighborhood friends. The second half of class was spent learning about posture. This is incorporated into Circle Crab Soccer, developing muscular strength.
Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Grades- discussed spatial awareness concepts in after participating in a ladder-style badminton tournament.
Seventh and Eight Grades- discussed advantages/disadvantages of long and short implements (accuracy/ power/force) after participating in a ladder-style badminton tournament.
